Is it bad that my story is online free AND in a book for sale?

Ok, so I am just now realizing this. I sent in a short story to a writing contest. Then, my school had to send in submissions into an online journal made by the students. It is free and online, published. I sent in the same essay that I wrote for the contest. And then, I won the contest. It's going to be published in a book. It is kind of bad timing but overall I wouldn't worry about it. Sounds like the school thing is local which the book could be geared for a larger audience.

Just don't tell lots of people it's also online for free... except me of course, lol. Come on, we are friends right? Where's my hook-up? I would like to read your double winning story. Is it bad that my story is online free AND in a book for sale?
It shouldn't be a problem. However, I'm surprised someone who liked that *ridiculously* stupid book Twilight enough to make their screen name ';Mrs. Edward Cullen'; could write an excellent story like you have.

(I mean, come on, that thing is basically soft core vampire porn. I almost gagged at all those parts that describe Edward Cullen's heaving, perfect, marbled chest.)
no. same thing happened to me in a university composition class. you should be flattered and just take it for what it is.
Maybe 'cause you're not getting paid for it...(are you?)

or... 'cause you want people to know who you are but would be like whatever

or... you think people won't like it

But I'm so jealous lol
no.

i love edward cullen too:)
