Have you even put in any time studying and learning *how* to cast spells? (If you've no idea how to cast a spell, then no spell is likely to work for you.)





Most witches create their own spells when there is a need. That way they are sure to be focused on their specific goal and the spell will be imbued with the energy and intent of the caster. One can cast an effective spell even if it was created by another - but it's not as easy as following a recipe - there is much more involved in working a spell.

The best I have found are written by Dorothy Morrison. You can go to her sight to check her out, and see what books she has available. My favorite of hers is called everyday magic. It is a wonderful resource. It has a lot os spells and recipes and much more.
I guess it depends on what you are looking for. I like Scott Cunningham. His books on Earth Magic and Candle Magic are very good and easy to understand. Patricia Telesco has a great book on kitchen witchery called ';The Kitchen Witches Cookbook'; which explains about food/sympathetic magic. There are many books out there that claim to be copies of old Grimories and Book of Shadows; but I have always found the best spells are the ones you create yourself.
