I agree with the posters above about petfinder.com They have all local shelters and animal control. Craig's List is good too but you have to be careful because there are a lot of people that are trying to scam or ask ridiculous adoption fees.





It will be hard to find though and you are going to have to visit the site every day. Yorkies are very popular right now so as soon as they get in to the shelter they are right out of the door again. Be prepared to have your lease/tax bill to prove you are allowed to have dogs in your home.

If you work with a breeder, you will get a good dog, but may pay a little more for them (however, you get what you pay for!).





I would check with your local shelter or humane society, as they often have purebred dogs. Also, there may be a Yorkie rescue organization in your area. Rescues are always looking for good homes for their dogs.


www.akc.org, the American Kennel Club web site, will give the parent organization for Yorkies, and they can direct you to local rescues who may be able to help you out.
Google Yorkie rescue and you will be able to find an organization in you area that has rescued Yorkies that need a good home. Most of these places are looking for foster homes also.
